How we publish reference gold prices for Thailand — source, frequency, units, and reuse
What we publish
thongnow publishes reference gold prices for Thailand — 96.5%-pure gold bar and jewelry, plus 99.99% gold — showing both the buy-back and sell prices. We are a data aggregator and presenter only: we do not buy, sell, or trade gold. The prices shown are reference information, not an offer to transact.
Update frequency
Our system pulls the latest published reference prices on a cycle of roughly every 5 minutes during the hours when prices are announced. Every recorded value carries a timestamp in Thailand time (ICT, UTC+7) so you can always tell which moment a price belongs to. On holidays or outside trading hours, when no new price is announced, the most recent recorded value continues to display.
Weight units and fineness
All prices follow Thai weight units — the baht (1 baht = 15.244 g for bar gold and 15.16 g for jewelry). Thailand's standard fineness is 96.5% for both bar and jewelry gold, which makes prices directly comparable between the two forms. We store prices distinctly by kind (bar / jewelry), fineness, and side (buy-back / sell).
Historical data
Beyond the current price, we keep daily historical prices going back to 2006 — browse them on the historical gold price page, which shows the open-close, high-low, and the change for each day, month, and year, so you can see long-term gold-price trends clearly.
Accuracy and limitations
We aim to match the announced reference prices as closely as possible, but the price a given shop actually buys or sells at may differ slightly, depending on the workmanship fee, dealer margin, and timing. Always confirm the price directly with a gold shop before transacting. thongnow is not an investment adviser and does not warrant the data's completeness or accuracy for trading decisions.
